Here we offer the HEPA Austin Air “Allergy Machine”.  ALL the Austin Air filters look the same on the OUTSIDE—the differences are on the type of filter materials INSIDE the metal filter cage!

·      ALL Austin Air models are HEPA filters—including this Allergy Machine.   They are certified to capture 99.97% of particles down to the 0.3 micron size that includes tiny, airborne virus particles.

·      ALL Austin Air models also capture chemicals & odors that are in the indoor air.

So you’re no doubt asking, “Well then, how do the different Austin Air HEPA filters differ from each other?  Good question!  The filters are different in how they capture chemicals & odors and how efficient they are in capturing specific types of chemicals.

HERE’S HOW the “ALLERGY MACHINE” IS DIFFERENT IN CAPTURING CHEMICALS:  it uses 1 pound of a high tech, “HEGA” activated carbon cloth.  It does NOT use: (1) granulated activated carbon, (2) zeolite, or (3) potassium iodide.  The carbon cloth is still very effective at capturing most common indoor chemical molecules.  So it’s great for indoor residential situations that do NOT have heavy concentrations of indoor air chemicals.  If you want heavier duty chemical filtration, then you should consider one of the other 3 models of Austin Air HEPA filters because they each have greater levels of chemical-adsorption ability.

Color choice:  you have a choice of either Black or Sandstone color [Sandstone is a very light cream color].

Comments on particulate and chemical filtration
I have a lot of expertise on indoor air quality, air filtration & air filters. A HEPA-grade room air filter can be an important way to keep your living space indoor air constantly cleaned of virus particles & prevent those infectious particles from circulating throughout your home. I have been an authorized Austin Air dealer for over 20 years because I consider it an exceptional HEPA air filter for both chemicals and particulates like Covid-19 & flu viruses and climate-fire smoke chemicals and other particulate contaminants.

Austin Air HEPA filters capture 99.97% of particle air contaminants down to 0.3 micron sizeincluding VIRUSES & climate-fire smoke particles, and they keep those hazardous particles from recirculating in your indoor air and being breathed in. In fact, climate fires fill the air not only with smoke particulates, but also with very health-hazardous chemicals released by the fires. So Austin Air’s combo HEPA and chemical filtration media are most effective for protecting your home indoor air from climate-fire contaminants, & other common indoor air chemicals, in addition to virus particles and other indoor air contaminants.!

WHAT IS A ‘HEPA’ AIR FILTER & WHY IS IT BETTER THAN A NON-HEPA AIR FILTER?  “HEPA” stands for ‘High Efficiency Particulate Air [filter]”.  HEPA-rated air filters are certified to filter out 99.97% of particulates as small as 0.3 microns in size—those 0.3 micron particles are the most difficult for an air filter to capture. In fact, due to the technical aspects of how particles act, research has proven that HEPA filters are even more efficient than 99.97% at capturing particles even smaller than 0.3 microns! See this Hamilton Medical excellent explanation of thisHEPA filters capture particles smaller than 0.3 microns

It’s the very tiny particles under 1 micron in size that get into the deepest lung tissue when we breathe them in. Virus-contaminated air & climate-fire smoke include those sub-micron particle sizes. So an air filter that is NOT HEPA rated [for example a “MERV 13”] will NOT filter out all of those most hazardous tiny virus or fire smoke particles before you breathe them in. IF YOU WANT TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM VIRUS & FIRE SMOKE PARTICLES, YOUR BEST OPTION is a HEPA AIR FILTER FILTERING YOUR HOME INDOOR AIR 24/7.
